After tons of comparing, I decided not to spend my money to purchase any shutter remote although it’s cheap, and I also don’t purchase any wireless flash (speedlite) transmitter and receiver.

YongNuo’s packaging never let me worry. As you can see, the two transceiver units are securely wrapped with bubble wrap, and all the items are put inside a box before it’s placed in the main packaging box.

The shutter connecting cable is included in this item, as well as a user manual.

Here I will give you reasons why I choose Yong Nuo RF-603 Wireless Flash Transceiver instead of getting shutter remote and wireless flash triggers separately. You’d me amazed, hopefully.

You might wonder, what is transceiver and why it’s called wireless transceiver. It’s simply because each transceiver unit can be either a flash transmitter or a receiver. Convenient enough.

Before when I was searching for flash triggers, I often saw that some flash triggers are powered by some batteries that I’ve never seen before, and I asked around, no one knows where to buy.  

Look at the YongNuo RF-603 Wireless Flash Transceivers.

Each transceiver unit is powered by 2 pieces of AAA batteries. You can grab them easily. If you’ve the budget, you can even go for rechargeable batteries. No hassles.

The fun part of YongNuo RF-603 Wireless Flash Transceiver is……

It’s a combination of wireless flash transceiver and also a GOOD shutter remote.

Why I say GOOD? Because of two reasons.
Firstly, unlike other shutter remote, often the camera cannot detect the signal of the remote (or the remote fails to send the signal to the camera???). YongNuo RF-603 Wireless Flash Transceivers solve this problem. I tried many times, and it doesn’t even fail for a single time, even when I am pressing the shutter remote in another room.

Secondly, you can perform autofocus with the transceivers! You don’t see it wrongly. The button on the transceiver unit is just like the camera shutter button, half-way press to focus and full-way press to shutter.

So imagine I’m taking portraits of myself and I am facing my camera mounted on a tripod. Do some funny actions, press the shutter remote button and perform a sweet autofocus, then *shoot*

One thing I’ve forgotten to try is to shoot using bulb mode. From the spec sheet, it’s mentioned, and since the shutter button is just like the camera’s shutter button, bulb mode should work extremely fine

I highly recommend this gear to every photographer who has started to play with speedlite. You can get so much fun and convenience from it!

Pure flash triggers setup. Without the shutter connecting cable, it’ll just work as flash triggers.

With the shutter connecting cable, flash triggers and shutter remote (radio triggering) can work simultaneously with no worries.

You can also press the button of the transceiver mounted with the speedlite to take photos. Cool, right?

Have more than one speedlite? No slave mode? No problem, you can always get a single transceiver unit after that.

What makes it more interesting is its 100m transmission distance (from the spec sheet). I don’t have the chance to try out the actual transmission distance, but practically I suppose it’ll work fine within 100m provided nothing is blocking the radio signal. I put a transceiver in my room and try to trigger it in another room, and, it works pretty fine!

If your speedlites are in sleep mode, don’t worry, because the transceiver will “wake” your speedlites.

Having studio strobes? Don’t worry, the transceivers can be used on them too with a Yongnuo studio light trigger sync PC connecting cable (Not included, sold separately).

For the past few years, I did set goals for myself. Those would not be done completely at the end, but at least those dreams or goals  would always motivate you, unless you forget them or you’re just being demotivated or discouraged easily.

I would like to share the goals that I’ve personally given to myself. Most of my dreams will have close relationships that I’ve stated in my dream list. Dreams aren’t set for fun, actions are needed to be taken so that the dreams can come true.

In this year, I would like to:-

1. Launch a blog with the niche photography, which will help people around the world who are interested in taking photos  and learning digital photography. (90% completed, launching soon!)
2. Start putting effort in making money online.
3. Create an MV. (Got an idea already )
4. Put more effort in cooking.
5. Improve my photography skills and technique.
6. Get more photography gears!!!
7. Study well, but not forgetting to enjoy! :-p

I feel like this year will be a year that determine whether some of my dreams in the future will be achieved or not. I am on my way to collecting capital for my future, but of course, I won’t lower my purchasing power to the minimum or zero. For things which are needed or things that I like, I will still fork out some money for them.

I’ve set mine, what about yours? It’s always good to have goals and dreams

I wasn’t able to stay until the event ended because I was tired and bored. Left earlier and went to meet my friends.

Anyway, for me, this event is a good practice since I haven’t had taking photos for quite a long time. I enjoyed the night shooting photos, taking with other photographers and also the performance.

Some dancers are invited to the event too. I ever saw them during other events, but I still don’t know what are their dances called. They are specialized in a kind of dance. Anyway, they’re quite awesome, for me.

The tripod is bubble-wrapped, put in its tripod bag and packed in a box. Secure enough.

Initially I wanted to get the one in lighting blue colour. It simply looks more awesome for me. After asking my mum for her opinion, she said that black colour is better. Well, after all I saved up RM13 to get the black one. I actually topped up some more to get a Phottix cleaning kit because I didn’t have proper cleaning tools.

This ballhead is very nice and firm enough, proven by one of my friends. Tried before too. That’s why I am confident with it.

The ballhead features Swiss quick release system, and I really love that. Convenient enough. Yet, it comes with the spirit bubble level.

Same goes to the tripod itself. I don’t really think that I will be using these, but the spirit bubble level just looks nice.

The tripod has 4 sections, and I really like the design of the legs. Instead of using clips, Jusino uses screws. It’s indeed very strong and stable! The tripod itself can handle a maximum load of 12kg.

The sweetest feature that I really like and perhaps I need it. Detachable tripod leg! It can be converted into a monopod by joining the detached leg with the center column of the tripod (Of course, together with the ballhead).

By the way, this tripod comes with two center columns: One is long and one is short. Both come with a hook to hang extra weight and balance tripod when necessary.

It is higher than what I expected. Good enough, taller than me.

This height can definitely help anyone in taking macro shots. It still can be lowered more actually.

I personally recommend this tripod for those who haven’t got a tripod and considering to buy one. It’s enough for anyone to use. A heavy camera body with speedlite and 70-200mm lens will just be a small case fot it

I always believe, listing out dreams will motivate people to achieve it. Here I’ve done another one.

I don’t know why I will have the mood to get back to this, perhaps one of my juniors has pulled back my mood by asking me about these things.

Luckily, I still remember most of the solutions and algorithms to solve those cubes and puzzles. Just forgot some, but I guess I have pulled my memory back after reviewing those solutions and algorithms.

I’ve sold most of my cubes last time when I quitted speedsolving. I sold some of  my good cubes, such as the 4x4x4. Also sold my 6x6x6 and 7x7x7. Feel like touching them now and solve them

I am still thinking whether I should buy another good copy of 4x4x4 and 5x5x5, as well as 6x6x6 and 7x7x7. My hands are itchy now!!! But I need some budget to buy a new phone because my phone is so crappy now

Not forgetting that I need a tripod too…

Now I am focusing in playing 3x3x3 with my beloved 3x3x3 Type F(II) Rubik’s cube. It’s still in an okay condition except for some lock up issues. Now many speedsolvers is getting overwhelming with DaYan ZhanChi 3x3x3 Rubik’s cube because it’s the cube that used by the current world record holder and other national players. Feel like getting one.

I tried to searched my 3x3x3 algorithm list weeks ago. Found it!

Before that I’ve memorized all the PLL algorithms. Forgot some after I back to speedsolving, but now I’ve managed to get them back into my mind

Now my wish is to memorize all the 57 OLL algorithms. It’s a lot harder than memorizing PLLs, because some of the algorithms don’t consist of simple triggers, yet, recognition is also very difficult as compared with the PLLs. So far I’ve mastered 29 out of the 57 algorithms. Still half way to go.

Focusing in one cube is boring. Perhaps, practising other cubes or puzzles such as 2x2x2, 4x4x4 or pyraminx can kill my boredom. Anyway, I’m not putting a lot of time in this, but this is one of my ways to spend my time. By mastering all the OLLs, it would be a lot faster for me to solve all the big cubes
